Our group, the Mohave County Downwinders, have been very Patience in asking for our elected official to what is correct for Arizona .

When the original bill was signed in 1990 by President Bush, all of Mohave County was to be added as the first five counties were. Coconico, Yavapai, Navajo, Apache, Mohave, Gila equaling six counties entirely, not portions. Iit is just dumb being located where we are next to the county and state lines. Plus we all drank the water from the Colorado River which is condemn as the most dangerous river in the USA. It is filled with radiation from seeping in the groundwater of the Cold War of the Nevada Test Site for 50 years .

However as quoted by Dept of Justice Diana Spellberg's letter address to the City of Kingman Arizona , of April 2001 the placement was just an oversight for not adding Mohave County. My question for all : is why did not the Dept of Justice follow up ; and just add the county Mohave entirely on without all of the proof we have had to endure.If you know something is broken why not fix it as it was to be! Why did we have to wait 40-50 years > After all testing from the Nevada Test site lasted till 1992. The real truth is a lot of radiation came out in the walls from the underground test.

Our victims exposed from the Nevada Test Site Radiation Fallout has shown the burden of proof ! Cancers, cancers, death& death! Many families here has lost 5-20 members. It was nice to see the family photo of our President G. W. Bush last night all intact. We will never have that choice here in Mohave County. How sad not to pass on a family photo of such! My grandkids will never have this .

WE have our own graveyard filled with mothers , fathers, children whom had never finish school, classmates whom never raised a family or lost their lives before they could see their children, to have a four generation photos, weddings, graduation, or grandchildren you name it . See we had lost lawyers, doctors, nurses, mayors, board of supervisors, people of the cloth, businessmen and women, teachers, students, Indian chiefs. WE have supplied the stats from our Arizona Public Health Dept showing the rates of cancers to be the highest in the state. Our own county Board of Supervisors have supported us, the mayors , the Governor. Arizona State Senate vote on Bill SCM 1002 in 2004 for placement. Our own Representative Trent Franks promise "MOHAVE DOWNWINDERS" 2 years ago it will be done ! We have not seen this yet as a project for us in Mohave County . Never a phone call or email only instance reply "Thank you for your concerns' I will take this under advisements. hum Really!

Senator McCain over 2 years ago also promise us , the Mohave Downwinders in( front of many local groups) vets, service clubs, elected officials, that he would do something when he had visited at the Elks Lodge in Kingman , Arizona. May I ask for all Mohave Downwinders ; what has been done outside of us writing letters, hosting meeting , attending the National Academy of Scientists hearing ; going on TV shows and been in many magazines. what has been done ; not one thing for the people of Arizona who has gone past the burden of proof. We are asking action on your behalf now. No more promises for us please. Promises has not been perform as of today May 22, 2005. We are asking that you all carry the big stick, but not a baseball bat as they did get an Congress Hearing for Drug used by the players. This was a private business not harm by the government, but did get votes. Heck all of the downwnders on treatment are doing drugs for health only legally.

Our own Governor has taken testimony from the downwinders 200 attending ; hosting a hearing here in our county by the State Radiation Regulatory Directors February 4 2005. All of the burden of proof was shown by the stats from the state office also. Washington DC has the proof how we were harm! Not only our state but 6 others, which by the way two state are already getting a congressional hearing ; which is not on the map at all!.

Montana Senator Burns ,and Idaho Senator Crappo, and yes Sen Matterson from Utah also has taken the bull by the horns and demanding their state's and counties to be on the Dept of Justice RECA MAP/! ~Again I ask all where is Arizona 's voice? Do we have elected congressman whom truly care for the people of Arizona

November of 2003 , Senator McCain had requested a Resolution be made. Our Mohave County board of Supervisors did so, and passed it for all Mohave Downwinders. The County Public Health Dept of Coconino also adopted our county board Resolution asking the Congress government banning testing ! All of this was forward to your offices in December 2003. another booklet( three ring binder) was presented to the senator personality with more stats in October of 2004 , See We, the Mohave Downwinders are not any further than 2 years ago , only there are more tomb marker in the grave yard with families wondering why our voices go unheard! Mohave Downwinders are dying and worried that the county will not be added on. Worried their families are more indebted from all of the medical bills( not state/ feds employees for insurance) or have become homeless from not able to make the mortgage payments. They are the family had to chose for food and meds instead. Compensate the wery ones whom was used for their country experiments to find out what radiation would do if used the way it was on these Americans unknown.

All are wondering if it was any congressmen families , would this unsung song be heard then. I think I may answered this for all yes; it would be heard then. It is a funny thing when the door opens to someone affected by the horrible cancers. The voices become heard ;and there is a village then for all have united.
