Dear Sir:

My name is Donna Kowalske. My husband David and I moved to Kingman, AZ, Mohave County. We purchased Kingman Rose Garden, a floral shop and nursery. We owned and operated this business until June, 1979. I am a Mohave County Downwinder. Let me tell you how the radiation fall-out has affected my family.

In 1984 David was diagnosed with throat cancer. David died January 2, 1986 at the young age of 50. In October of 1987 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a modified radical masectomy. Six years later, I was again diagnosed with breast cancer and had another modified radical masectomy. In Fall, 1986, I had to have my thyroid destroyed because of medical problems.

My children were born in 1965 and 1967. We built a two story home/business property on Hall Street in Kingman. In the early 1970's fmy children would call out,"Mama, Daddy, come see the pretty colors in the sky." And then we would see the mushroom clouds to the west.

I feel the Nevada Test Site radiation has effected my family over and over and Mohave County should be added to the Department of Justice RECA program. The dates should be changed to 1975.

Donna Kowalske
Kingman, AZ
