To Whom It May Concern:
Every time I attend a meeting I am surprised at all the familiar faces I see and deeply saddened that all of
us have been touched in some way by this disease call CANCER.
Long time residents of this county, people who lived here during the time the testing was done in Nevada,
ALL have family members that have sadly died of cancer or have had to suffer with the aftermath of
having had cancer . I am lucky enough to be able to sit with my mom who has had the last 4 years of her
life changed due to colon cancer but she will never be the same, her life is affected every day now thanks
to the disease. She went from 165 lbs to 98 lbs in 3 months, could barely walk for more than a year and
now has an uphill battle everyday to keep going. She looked forward to retirement and traveling, she
struggles to walk to the bathroom some days...... SOME RETIREMENT!
I am 49 years old and lived here with my parents during that time as well. What is ahead for me I don not
know. I am doing everything I possibly can to keep my body healthy, I do not smoke or drink and exercise
and eat right, BUT IT MIGHT NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE, and that makes me VERY angry!!!!
Through no fault of our own we were exposed to harmful fallout that has the potential to kill us or destroy
our lives. Just tell me this, if it were you or your family, how would that make you feel?
Sincerely
Debi Dannenberger
